Pelosi says Democrats willing to deal on health care
A handful of House conservatives on Monday evening criticized GOP leaderships’ newly released Obamacare replacement bill, foreshadowing trouble for the repeal effort even after leaders tried to assuage the far-right.
“All I know is we had our House Dream Caucus meeting last night and there was strong opposition in that meeting”. If that were the case, he could veto the bill, sending it back to Congress. Congress would need two-thirds of both the House and Senate to override the president’s veto for the bill to become law.

The Republican plan slashes subsidies that low-income individuals use to pay for insurance in favor of age-based refundable tax credits. Those payments would phase out for higher-earning people. Obamacare expanded the number of people who were eligible for Medicaid.
The state’s largest health insurer, Blue Cross Blue Shield, which was a supporter of Obamacare, had a positive view of this plan. Democrats win the insurance coverage “beauty contest”, but rich Republicans win big tax breaks.
