Penguins’ Pascal Dupuis taken to hospital with symptoms possibly related to
His problems began back in December of 2013 when Dupuis suffered a torn ACL, MCL and PCL in a game against the Ottawa Senators.
Daniel Sprong also scored for the Penguins (9-4-0), who have won nine of their last 10 games after an 0-3 start to the season.
Pittsburgh Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis missed Friday’s game in Edmonton after he was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The Penguins are serious contenders in the Eastern Conference and with Jeff Zatkoff getting the team some wins and allowing Marc-Andre Fleury to take some nights off it makes things even better for them as they can afford to give some of their key players some much needed rest.
“He went for precautionary tests before the game and the tests came back negative”, said Penguins head coach Mike Johnston. He was on blood thinners for six months while rehabilitating the knee but on November 19 was diagnosed with a clot in his lung, which was believed to have traveled from his leg.
Dupuis will be re-evaluated in Pittsburgh.
The Penguins were in Edmonton to play the Oilers on Friday night. “We just couldn’t find the back of the net”. His shot from the point was partially blocked by Brandon Davidson’s hand, and then floated past goalie Anders Nilsson. “We were right there to the end with a few good opportunities, but we just weren’t able to finish”.
