Pennsylvania State Trooper shot along I-676 W, in stable condition
A Pennsylvania state trooper has been hospitalized after being shot in an altercation on I-676 in Center City Philadelphia. The suspects’ vehicle then caught fire, and the flames spread onto the bus, soon consuming both vehicles.
No children were on the bus at the time of the crash, reports state.
The traffic stop occurred in the eastbound lanes near 22nd Street and fleeing auto crashed into the bust near 20th Street, police said.

The shooting took place near 18th street on the Westbound side of the expressway around 9:30 a.m. just as the morning rush was ending. He said the trooper apparently returned fire after being shot.
The incident happened along I-676 West in Philadelphia. The trooper was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital and is now in stable condition. “No further details are available at this time”.
Three suspects in the shooting have been apprehended, the shooter and two others.
A crime scene unit was marking shell casings, and at least eight bullet holes were visible in the windshield of the trooper’s cruiser. “I moved here from NY a month ago and I’ve already gotten more action here than in Manhattan”.
According to an alert from PennDOT, due to the incident Interstate 676 is closed in both directions between Interstate 76 and Interstate 95.
