People’s Choice Awards: Was that stage crasher just a stunt?
Last night’s People’s Choice Awards received an interruption when a man invaded the LA stage and quoted a Kanye West lyric.
Mimicking Steve Harvey’s now-infamous Miss Universe slip-up, Jane Lynch presented a surprising award to Miss Colombia after “mistakenly” announcing Tom Lennon as the award’s recipient.
Ellen DeGeneres found it “strange” to be named Favourite Humanitarian at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards.
People’s Choice Awards wrapped up on Wednesday night in Los Angeles, with “Furious 7” and “The Big Bang Theory” winning big at the ceremony. “It wasn’t so much the end result as it is the company I get to keep along the way – the people I meet and the memories I make”, she said.
As the panel from The Talk were accepting their award for Favorite Daytime TV Hosting Team – that’s an award, seriously – a very odd young man approached the stage took the mic, and introduced himself.
While Dakota’s speech might have added a touch of humor, Favourite Movie Actress Sandra Bullock’s moment on stage was one of the most touching.
Congrats, ladies! Even if you were bombarded by some rude dude, we will always appreciate Sharon for giving him the boot, and reminding us that kick-butt females are awesome.
“Pitch flawless 2” took away the favourite comedic movie award. “This is insane, I mean, so, so deserved, but this is insane”, she joked.
“Would I call myself the Mother Teresa of talk shows, the Dalai Lama of daytime? No, but I’m sure someone out there has!” she joked before insisting how important it is to be kind.
Meanwhile, Sara Gilbert was a total pro, and brought it back after the party crasher left the stage.
The show also included musical performances by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, Jason Derulo and Jordan Smith with David Foster.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an awards show without some sort of wardrobe malfunction.
