Pepsi-Cola to Release First Smartphone in China
The globally known soft-drinks brand has told Reuters that it’s now working with a licensing partner – and part of the partnership is that Pepsi will promote certain smartphones and smartphone accessories. However, the company “has no plans to get into the mobile phone manufacturing business”, according to the company’s spokesperson, who responded via email.
In an unexpected turn of events, PepsiCo Inc. announced on Monday that it has tied up with a licensing partner to launch smartphones and accessories in China in the very near future.

The phone’s specifications were later revealed to include a 5.5-inch screen with a 1.7 gigahertz processor, two gigabytes of memory and 16 gigabytes of internal storage.
The handset-with a 3,000mAh battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop-will reportedly go on sale next week for 1,299 Chinese Yuan ($205).
The page also referenced China’s Shenzhen Technology Co., which now works with companies like Konica Minolta, Brother Industries and Xiaomi.
