Person rescued from roof of new Minnesota Vikings stadium
A rescue effort at the Minnesota Vikings’ new stadium retrieved one person in a crevice of the roof and another victim was taken from the scene in an ambulance, according to authorities.
John Wood, the senior vice president of Mortensen Construction, said the workers fell this morning “while performing roofing work on the north side of the building”. No other details were immediately available. “And I think they did everything possible for both of the individuals”.
The extent of the victims’ injuries are unknown.
The second person was rescued and taken to a hospital after crews requested a rescue basket, ropes and cables.
Another person was also injured, and was transported to the hospital, the fire department said. The department did not describe the nature of either person’s injuries.
Neither worker was identified, pending notification of their families.
The U.S. Bank Stadium is expected to be completed for the 2016 football season.
