Pet cat survives after being found with arrow through chest
It was taken to the Capital Area Humane Society, where it is receiving medical attention. “There was a good six inches on either side of the cat where the arrow was sticking out of his front and out of his side”. “We hope it wasn’t intentional, but we’ve seen too many of these kind of cases to believe it wasn’t”.
Kitty, a male tabby cat found with a crossbow bolt through its chest in rural Kalamo Township, is in serious condition this morning but has stabilized after surgery, Capital Area Humane Society officials said.
Society officials said on the group’s Facebook page that the cat, nicknamed “Kitty”, had extensive injuries.
The next day or so are extremely critical. “We are hopeful, but guarded”.
The cat’s owner last saw her pet Saturday – two days after archery season for whitetail deer opened in Michigan – the sheriff’s department said.
The Eaton County sheriff’s department tells MLive.com the type of arrow found in the cat is used for target practice.
“I’m a cat lover, and I know that vet bills can be very expensive”, Salva said in a phone interview. He wasn’t showing signs of significant respiratory distress when it came in, she said. “You can tell he’s not afraid of humans”. People are urged to contact the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office at 517-543-3512 with information.
