Pete Carroll: Russell Wilson practicing Wednesday, “planning on playing” Sunday at LA
Suh ran around Seahawks’ right tackle Garry Gilliam and closed on Wilson, who fell to the ground in hopes of avoiding a major blow from Suh. However, his attempt at protection didn’t matter.
ANKLE DAMAGE: Wilson was hobbled after he was sacked by Suh for a 13-yard loss.
Four plays later, Wilson hit Baldwin in the corner of the end zone to give Seattle the lead – and finally exhale after a tougher-than-expected opener.
Carroll said the team will consider options to add another quarterback to work with Trevone Boykin as a backup behind Wilson.
Wilson has never missed a game or practice since entering the league in 2012. But the Russell Wilson and company got the ball first in overtime.
“No shot”, he said. “They’re going to get back with me as far as the details of all that stuff”. That’s just my mentality, whatever it takes.
“We’re playing to win”, Gase said.
On the opposite sideline, Seahawks players and coaches locked arm in arm. ” … We’ll help him in practice during the week to make sure we take care of him”. He held up but he’ll improve quite a bit technique wise and some of the real technical parts of it I think he’ll just feel better a week later.
The game ended with Dallas in position for a roughly 57-yard field goal, but Terrance Williams didn’t get out of bounds after a catch and the clock ran out.
Wilson even joked about his twisted ankle after the game. Early returns were positive on Monday regarding his chances to play against the Rams. They’re pretty good up front too.
All of this makes it likely that Wednesday’s team practice at the VMAC facility in Renton will be one of the most-watched and highly scrutinized practices in years.
“However, during the almost two minutes when that song is playing, I believe everyone should put their hands on their heart and be proud of our country for we are all truly blessed”. RB C.J. Prosise has a cracked bone in his hand but should be able to play with a cast. The wrist was put in a cast and Prosise was available for special teams duty if necessary.
“I’ve seen enough film where I’ve seen him have drives at the end of a game like the Atlanta game in 2013”, Gase said Monday.
All 53 Seahawks on the active roster and many other coaches and staff members locked arms during the national anthem – including cornerback Jeremy Lane – before their season-opening game against the Miami Dolphins. Miami was unable to convert however and instead tried to tie the game on a field goal.
