Peterson picked as lone Vikings rep for Pro Bowl

Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and defensive end J.J. Watt have been named to the 2016 Pro bowl team, the Texans announced Tuesday.

The Houston Texans will have two players represent the team in this year’s Pro Bowl.

Ben Roethlisberger was selected to his fourth Pro Bowl.

Newton was picked for the third time, and five of the quarterback’s teammates were first-time selections, including cornerback Josh Norman and linebacker Thomas Davis.

The 49ers had 10 players honored in 2012 and nine in 2013 before only three captured Pro Bowl honors last season (Staley, safety Antoine Bethea and guard Mike Iupati).

But Steelers fans will be hoping that no players actually take part in the game.

“I felt he’s the guy that deserved it more than anybody on our football team and through the NFL the way he’s played”. I would expect Bowman to sit out this game to recover from his first season back from the knee injury, but we’ll find out what his plan is in the coming weeks.

These are the first career Pro Bowl selections for Stewart, Turner, Davis, Norman and Short. The roster will be split up into two teams on January 27, when team captains make their picks.

The only other running back in team history who have been selected to the Pro Bowl in multiple seasons are Warrick Dunn (1997, 2000).

Butler was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time.

Fans, players and coaches each accounted for one-third of the vote.

For Roethlisberger, it is his fourth Pro Bowl, as he was also elected in 2007, 2011. and 2014. Baldwin is tied for the NFL lead with 13 touchdown receptions – including 10 in his last four games alone – while Avril is tied for 18th in the league with 7.5 sacks.
