Kudos to the Today Show hosts for pressing Davies on the issue – Peyton Manning’s wife receiving HGH is interesting if there’s evidence against Peyton Manning, but Al Jazeera has nothing of the sort and Davies was forced to admit that.

Davies said she believes what Sly originally said in the undercover expose in which he didn’t know he was being recorded was true, according to a tweet from ESPN’s Darren Rovell. “Our procedure is to follow up on any information that potentially involves a violation of this nature”.

Davies replied by noting that Manning, who has denied using HGH and said he might sue Al Jazeera, hasn’t denied that his wife received the growth hormone shipments.

Much of the initial controversy over the report revolved around the timing of Sly’s internship with the Guyer Institute, the Indianapolis anti-aging clinic where Manning and his wife Ashley were both patients.

Sly later recanted his statement. “Under no circumstances should any of those recordings, statements or communications be aired”. “I am recanting any such statements”. The news of Manning being linked to HGH broke not through the documentary itself, but through the Huffington Post preview, which came from Al Jazeera providing them an advance copy.

Ironically, Brady’s bitter feud with commissioner Roger Goodell could spur the NFL to launch an investigation of Manning: How could the league, in good conscience, spend millions trying to convict Brady of ball tampering, then shrug when another marquee QB is accused of taking illegal performance-enhancing drugs? And even if they could prove use, there is a loophole that could have made it OK for Manning to use the banned substance for a short period of time.

In the interview with ESPN, Manning said his wife’s medical needs and prescriptions were her own private business. And over the years, he’s a guy I can always count on and someone who’s always been so supportive of me. I have never seen Manning look so dejected, and at the same time so mad and speak so candidly. I feel badly. I never saw any files. I’ve never communicated with him.

Staff at the Guyer Institute declined to speak to a Daily News reporter at the clinic on Monday, and no one answered the door at Dale Guyer’s home in the Indianapolis suburb of Fisher. “Every medication I have is prescribed by our team physician, ” Matthews said Sunday.

Davies released a recorded phone call in which a clinic employee confirms that Sly worked at the Guyer Institute in 2011. “I think it is obvious that Mr. Sly has fabricated this whole thing for reasons I can not fathom”.
