Peyton Manning refutes report he used HGH in 2011
The day after a report from Al Jazeera suggested that Peyton Manning and other athletes were guilty of receiving HGH (human-growth hormones) and other drugs from an Indianapolis-based clinic, several wheels were set in motion by Manning and the Denver Broncos to quash the story.
Per the report, British hurdler Liam Collins went undercover to expose the use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports.
‘It never happened. Never.
The attorney for Phillies slugger Ryan Howard will fight claims made in an Al Jazeera report that his client received performance-enhancing drugs.
Charlie Sly, a pharmacist with the Guyer Institute says “All the time we would be sending Ashley Manning drugs…Like growth hormone, all the time, everywhere, Florida”. He said he did receive treatment at the Indianapolis clinic in question back in 2011 but was accompanied by Colts trainers and did nothing that was against National Football League rules. “Al Jazeera potentially satisfied that standard by seeking and including a statement from Manning’s agent”. “Any medical treatment received by Ashley is a private matter of hers, her doctor, and her family”. That’s what the entire report is based on, and Manning has come out very strongly against the allegations. “What hurts me the most about this, whoever this guy is, this slapstick trying to insinuate that in 2011, when more than less I had a broken neck – I had four neck surgeries….” Any medical treatments that my wife received, that’s her business.
Sly posted a video to YouTube on Saturday night saying that Collins was a “recruited fraudster”. The individual involved backtracked on his statements in the Huffington’s Post version of the story, claiming he was taken advantage of.
At the end of the documentary, Al Jazeera notes that Sly said his statements about athletes were “false and incorrect”, but doesn’t elaborate further.
The Al Jazeera report airs Sunday at 7 p.m. Mountain Time. It is uncertain whether he will play in Monday night’s home game against the Bengals. “To be clear, I am recanting any such statements and there is no truth to any statement of mine that Al-Jazeera plans to air”. Manning has since returned to add to his Hall of Fame resume with the Broncos, but he will forever be remembered for his 14 years in Indianapolis and will go down as the best player to wear the horseshoe in Indy.
