Peyton Manning sets NFL’s all-time passing yards record

Nearly an hour later, Peyton Manning, his back against the wall of the locker room, shook his head, as if he didn’t know, either. He broke Brett Favre’s National Football League passing mark to become the NFL’s all-time leader.

The game was tied at 14 in the second quarter before Washington (4-5) scored 33 straight points during a span that included safety Dashon Goldson’s 35-yard interception for a touchdown on the third play of the fourth quarter to make 44-14. The Denver Broncos come off of their first loss of the season against the Indianapolis Colts; however, the Chiefs come off of back-to-back wins.

Asked if he pulled Manning because of injuries or ineffectiveness, Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said, “To be honest with you, I was protecting him because I was anxious about him”. To show how impressive the record is, Dan Marino, who is in third place on the all-time yardage list, is more than 10,500 yards behind with 61,361 yards. Then, on first down of Denver’s second drive, Manning was sacked by Jaye Howard for a 2-yard loss and fumbled.

The Broncos would have been nasty this season with Thomas playing next to left guard Evan Mathis, the second-ranked guard in the league blocking for the run. While Manning was in the game, Denver was only able to gain 49 total yards.

“It’s a division game and these division games are huge with where we’re at – we kind of dug ourselves a hole – it’s even bigger for us”, quarterback Alex Smith said.

Kansas City has played Denver close the past six contests, but a few could make an argument the Broncos have the Chiefs’ number and a mental block exists. Look for the Chiefs defense to play aggressive against Manning’s passes in search of turnovers when we watch the Broncos Chiefs game live streaming or on TV today. Broncos S T.J. Ward was ejected from the game in the fourth quarter for unsportsmanlike conduct.

As is the Lions’ way, it wasn’t easy, as they survived a frantic Packers comeback but escaped when Green Bay kicker Mason Crosby appeared to mishit a 52-yard field-goal attempt on the final play.
