Nothing but compliments for Cam Newton after completely bashing Tom Brady. That’s all the quarterback’s former head coach, Tony Dungy, needed to know. “So I wanted to take the time to pass that along to them, with how much respect I have for both of them”.

They never got that chance.

Following Manning’s remarks, cameras and microphones were unable to pick up exactly what Bill Belichick had to say back to Manning, but it appeared as if Belichick told him “You are a great competitor”.

“New England has always got something up their sleeve”, Daniels said. “He’s just really, really been outstanding for a long time”.

After the game, Daniels searched for Kubiak to soak in the moment.
