Pharrell shows his revolutionary side in ‘Freedom’
For those who haven’t set-up their AppleMusic account yet, has finally released his video for “Freedom” on Youtube for all to see. It’s a drumbeat for freedom in that catchy, snappy way that makes Pharrell, well, Pharrell.
The video premiered exclusively to Apple Music users a couple weeks ago, but now it’s free for everyone.
The thought-provoking video, directed by Paul Hunter, explores the level of freedom around the world, featuring horses stampeding across the American West to workers stitching garments in a factory.
The single is the first original piece of music we have heard from Pharrell in quite some time as he has been working hard producing other people’s records over the past year or so.
In June, the “Happy” singer debuted “Freedom” live during his performance at Glastonbury Festival.
“Listen, we all afterwards were kind of teary eyed because the energy of the crowd was so big, and it was so strong”, Pharrell told the BBC’s DJ Annie Mac.
