Philadelphia 76ers Rookie Jahlil Okafor In Fight Outside Boston Club, TMZ Reports
Everyone has a tipping point, and if this happened at say, one in the morning, and started before tip off, that’s over six hours of this guy being in Okafor’s head about how bad he is.
TMZ posted cellphone video of the altercation on Thursday (https://youtu.be/aAmCcvHHY8M), showing Okafor yelling and later shoving a man outside the club.
The man said in the report that Okafor and another man came toward his group and requested phone numbers from some of the women. When the women declined, a verbal altercation ensued, followed by a physical scuffle. Police said that Okafor allegedly tried to charge the victim, but was held back.
This is a change from earlier reports Friday, which said the Boston police wasn’t planning on investigating the incident.
A recently uncovered report, however, shows that this wasn’t Okafor’s first incident since joining the 76ers.
Okafor, a 19 year-old-rookie, spoke with reporters yesterday before the Sixers game in Houston and called the incident “dumb” and “embarrassing”. “But we are still going to through the process of what we are going to do”. It’s something that I have known I’m in the spotlight. “I’ll never handle it like [he did Thursday morning] again”. “Something I’m embarrassed about”.
The victim of the alleged assault filed an official police report early Friday. As has been mentioned before, Okafor is an adult and is responsible for his own behavior, but the Sixers need to address how that activity affects the team’s, and his, well-being as soon as they possibly can. As first reported by CSNPhilly.com, Okafor had a gun pulled on him while outside of a Philadelphia club.
“This is not something that we dismiss”, Brown said. You know, life is filled with pitfalls. “Until that time, we will have no further comment”.
The Sixers have lost 27 straight games dating to last season for the longest losing streak in major USA professional sports history, passing the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1976 to 1977. You can’t put a paddle lock on life.
