Philadelphia Eagles: Keys to a victory over the Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers now sit at 0-3, but easily could be 2-1. That’s not going to happen in the AFC West this year.

We knew there was a strong likelihood Eagles fans would represent well in Los Angeles. I think the wrong tam is favoured here as the Chargers haven’t given us anything to hang on to while the Eagles look like a team who could be a division victor. Basically, they’ll be Screech.

“This isn’t your average 0-3 team”, safety Malcolm Jenkins said of the Chargers. Presumably, Chargers running back Melvin Gordon will be making a comeback on Sunday. All three are crucial towards the success of the Eagles secondary. LA’s defense kept last Sunday’s game close against the Chiefs, but three interceptions by Philip Rivers helped give Kansas City a big early lead. Wide receiver Travis Benjamin earned five receptions for 105 yards.

Listed out by the Eagles are Cox (calf), defensive tackle Destiny Vaeao (wrist) and safeties Jaylen Watkins (hamstring) and Corey Graham (hamstring). What should scare the Eagles is how many pass yards and touchdowns they surrendered in the fourth quarter.

After an early injury to Darren Sproles in the win over the Giants, it might have seemed like the flawless time for coach Doug Pederson to dump the run and go pass-heavy for the remainder of the game and, possibly, even the season.

It has been a rough start for L.A.’s quarterback.

Unless they can ignite a flame in this team and play up to their talents, the Chargers may be best suited in preparing for the future.

CHARGERS DEFENSE: Overall (13), rush (31), pass (5). “But we got to win one first”. The run game will miss Darren Sproles, who suffered season-ending injuries last week against the Giants. Philly is still learning to win away games under head coach Doug Pederson.

Highlights will be available once the game begins on Sunday. Rivers shelled out 419 passing yards and three touchdowns. A kick from rookie Younghoe Koo would edge up the Chargers to 10 points right before halftime.

At 0-3, the chances would be incredibly slim, but the Chargers could somehow turn the season around. Meanwhile, the Eagles have a future Hall of Famer in … hang on I’m looking up his name …

FAST FACTS: Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery had 10 receptions for 152 yards against the Chargers in 2015 as a member of the Chicago Bears. Chargers will get their first win of the year and Rivers will be back to his old self.

Keep in mind, two of the Chargers’ three losses have come to the Chiefs and the Broncos. I think Los Angeles finally gets Lynn the first dub of his career.
