Philly protests endure into night of Trump’s visit at GOP retreat

GOP lawmakers are welcoming Trump’s actions today on immigration and the border wall with Mexico.

McConnell did not say whether the cost of the wall would be offset with spending cuts.

But the retreat comes as Mr Trump continues his unorthodox, campaign-style of communication, including a series of petty tweets and a wild accusation that three to five million people voted illegally in the November election.

The socks were included in gift bags provided to lawmakers who arrived Wednesday to map out strategy and hear from Trump on Thursday. If the definition of “reimburse” is stretched to Mexico transferring money to the U.S.in a “complicated form” from “whatever transaction”, Trump can declare he’s made good on his promise to “make Mexico pay for it” even without their consent.

On efforts to withhold federal funds from so-called “sanctuary cities” in the US that protect illegal immigrants from deportation, Trump said, “The hour of justice for the American worker has arrived”.

Ryan said that he showed Trump the chart and that the president not only approved it but also vowed to use his voice to help pass each listed item and silence opposition when needed, notes Politico.

“I don’t have any advice to give to the president about that issue”, McConnell said.

“President Trump, you should open your eyes and see what the real story is here and the real contributions of those who come from other countries and the work and the value that they add to the Bronx, our city, your city”, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. said Thursday.
