Photo Of US Army Soldiers Breastfeeding Goes Viral

A former military photographer, Tara Ruby, has thus taken to her art form, in an endeavour to “normalise” the act. However, some individuals complained concerning the “professionalism” of the photograph as the ladies are breastfeeding of their uniforms. The photograph features 10 military moms breastfeeding their babies in uniform, and it’s lovely!

“Seeing a picture like that helps mothers understand they can be an active soldier and provide support for their children”.

Facebook initially took the photo down from her wall after she posted it late Thursday night. Ruby, who wrote that she is “100% for #normalizebreastfeeding”, joins a growing numbers of voices who hope to make nursing easier for working mothers. ‘Today I believe we made history, ‘ Ruby wrote.

Alissa Koop, who describes herself as an lively obligation sailor within the navy, stated she discovered the photograph “extraordinarily unprofessional”.

The photo has received heaps of praise from military moms, but there has also been criticism from people questioning whether the picture goes against any codes of conduct.

In the late ’90s, when Tara Ruby was in the U.S. Air Force, support for breastfeeding moms “wasn’t even an option or a consideration”, she said. “I want to say thank you to everyone that saw my vision, and helped us in succeeding in making it come true”.
