Photographer: Mel Gibson shoved, verbally abused me
She said she found Gibson with his girlfriend and, after she took a few shots, the actor snapped and “shoved” her “in the back”, causing her to stumble.
“I thought he was going to punch me in the face”, said the victim, Kristi Miller, a news reporter for the Daily Telegraph.
Gibson, 59, accused Miller of “invading” his space and “disrespecting” him by taking the picture.
Ross finally stepped in and tried to calm her beau down while apologizing to Miller on his behalf.
“I was just shocked that I was being pushed, shoved in the back”, she claimed. “Swore at me, every word you could think of… the c-word, the f-word, all of it… completely red in the face, out of control, literally didn’t breathe”.
Mr Gibson’s publicist Alan Nierob said the photographer’s account of the incident was a “complete fabrication” and denied there had been any physical contact between the two.
Gibson recently travelled to Australia to begin work on Hacksaw Ridge, which stars Andrew Garfield as a conscientious objector during the Second World War.
The incident has been reported to police but it is unknown if any action will be taken.
Mel Gibson’s girlfriend was forced to offer an apology for the Hollywood actor’s rude behaviour yesterday, claiming he was “a bit sick”.
Local police have confirmed that they are looking into allegations that a man “became involved in an altercation with a photographer outside a cinema on Oxford Street” early on Sunday evening.
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.
The father-of-eight has been quietly working on rebuilding his reputation following a tumultuous few years, which include his 2006 drink driving arrest and rant against the Jewish community for which he later apologised over and labelled as “despicable” behaviour.
