Photoshop Fix puts Creative Cloud power on iOS
There are a number of packages available via the App Store.
Adobe MAX continues this week in Los Angeles.
More layer support has been added for Photoshop Mix and Adobe Portfolio will also be added to Creative Cloud Photography plan, a feature we’ll discuss next. It’s rolled Brush CC, Shape CC, Hue CC and Color CC into a single app, Adobe Capture CC, that will be available on Android, iPhone and iPad. Ahead of the event, the vendor briefed journalists on the updates and roadmap it will be unveiling Monday for its Creative Cloud suite, which includes products such as InDesign for publishing, Premiere Pro for video editing and Photoshop Pro and Illustrator for graphics and images.
All of Adobe’s other mobile apps like Photoshop Mix, Premiere Clip and Comp CC will also see their fair share of tweaks and new features. At first glance, that doesn’t seem like much, but Adobe has been fairly generous here, granting users access to numerous tools that are available in the desktop version of the program. Photoshop Fix [Direct Link] is an image retouching and restoration-focused app that includes powerful Photoshop tools like the Healing Brush and Liquify. The main feature powered by this service are Adobe’s Creative Cloud Libraries. Premiere will now come with touch support, and touch will be supported for additional common tasks within Photoshop and Illustrator. “With this latest release, we’re giving our creative customers the freedom they need to work and be inspired from anywhere”, said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president and general manager, Digital Media at Adobe.

Both InDesign CC and Illustrator CC are being updated with new Touch workspaces.
Photoshop may primarily be known for as a desktop image editing app, but it’s been on mobile for a while, too. In Photoshop CC new Artboards capabilities precisely place elements and layers for easier visualization and the first version of Design Space, a streamlined design-centric experience, is made available to all customers. Premiere Pro CC includes expanded UltraUD support for editing 4K to 8K video footage, plus it will gain support for HDR workflows. Adobe says they’re being upgraded with desktop-like performance, and there will be mobile-to-mobile CreativeSync asset sharing (files, photos, fonts, vector graphics, brushes, colors, settings, metadata, etc.) via Create Cloud Libraries. Adobe Stock is already integrated into flagship products, including Photoshop CC, InDesign CC, Illustrator CC, Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC. The feature is tied to Adobe’s Behance creative social network, where existing Behance users can bring their content there to Adobe Portfolio.
Users can now search for Adobe Stock content – and license it – from the CC libraries panel. (Updates to the video applications and apps were announced in the beginning of September at the IBC conference.) The desktop software updates will start appearing later this year. Muse now has “free-form reponsive web design”, which I believe is an Edge-like interface for working with multiple screen sizes. Portfolio sites can include a personalized URL, password-protection and high-impact Typekit fonts. There are also tools like Spot Heal that let you remove content from an image and a Defocus tool that’ll let you blur part of an image just by painting it on with your finger. New and updated touch interfaces and enhanced features in Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC pioneer a fresh way for photographers to interact with their images. Assets can also be shared with anyone else who has a Creative Cloud membership.
