After under-performing films like Baar Baar Dekho, Freaky Ali, A Flying Jatt and Akira, to name just a few, Bollywood has been hoping to have a full-fledged hit, and it may just have that in Pink – which is being lauded as the feminist film we need.

The film witnessed an overall growth of 120.83% ( from Friday to Sunday).
In Pink, Taapsee plays a determined, modern day woman who refuses to be cowed down when faced with sexual harassment.
The film has been unanimously lauded by critics, members of the film fraternity and the audience for being creativity and narration at its best. “There will be a special screening for the Information and Broadcasting ministry happening this week”, Shoojit told PTI. But watching a film in a theatre is a completely different and definitely an improved experience. “After a good weekend, now we are looking forward to a strong week for the film”, Devang Sampat, Director – Strategy Initiative, Cinepolis India, told IANS.
For this weekend’s other release – Raaz: Reboot – the news wasn’t so good. The film is a horror flick and worked well in the single screens. So the positive reaction to Pink hasn’t seeped in yet.
