Pittsburgh Steelers lose another running back
Fitzgerald Toussaint, a second-year player from MI, will start at running back for the Steelers in Saturday night’s playoff game against the Bengals after DeAngelo Williams was ruled out.
Both Toussaint and Todman will have a big role to fill this Saturday, and they face a hard task against the Bengals’ seventh ranked run defense in terms of yards per game.
Williams finished the regular season with 907 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 200 carries. He has carried the ball four times for 22 yards in 2015. Notably, Toussaint contributed zero yards in his team’s victory over the Steelers, so you know his heart is pure.
NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported, per a source, that the Steelers consider Williams out with the foot injury.

“I think we’ve got guys that have stepped up all year and don’t see why this should be any different, whether it’s Todman, Fitz, Will Johnson”, Roethlisberger said. He has started 10 of the 16 games he has played in this season. He has 42 yards on 18 carries this season, but he’s earned the respect of coaches and teammates.
The Steelers and Bengals are set to play at 8:15 ET on Saturday. Not that Toussaint needs it. The 25-year-old understands he’s doesn’t have the resume of injured stars Le’Veon Bell or DeAngelo Williams. As a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, he would end up starting 3 games and rushing 108 times for 442 yards and 2 TD’s in 2013 and 2014, tacking on 314 yards and 2 TD’s in the passing game. If the Steelers win tomorrow at Cincinnati, they’ll play next on Sunday, January 17 at Denver. Despite postseason appearances in 2011 and 2014, the Steelers haven’t won a playoff game since 2010, when they beat the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round and the New York Jets in the AFC Championship before losing to the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLV.
