Plane lands in Calgary after passengers hurt during turbulence
Turbulence forced an Air Canada jet with more than 300 passengers aboard to make an unscheduled landing at Calgary Wednesday, and some of those aboard were injured, the airline said.
Up to 20 people could have suffered neck and back injuries, Calgary fire officials told the Canada Press.
“There might only be four that need some real assistance getting off the plane”, Henke says.
“Some will require hospitalization for assessment”, it added, without specifying the exact number.
Henke added that three fire trucks and an EMS unit were dispatched to the Calgary airport to treat the injured.
No further details are available at this time, however Air Canada will continue to issue regular updates as information becomes known.
