“Plane Lands On Highway In Ocean County, New Jersey ” CBS Philly
STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) – Authorities say a small plane carrying students from a skydiving school made an emergency landing on a southern New Jersey highway.
Officials say five people were aboard the plane, but their names have not been released.
According to a conversation about the incident on the Stafford police Facebook page, the plane sustained minor damage when it struck a sign warning motorists to stay off the median strip.
One lane of the roadway was closed as of about 10:45 a.m., but traffic had not yet impacted the nearby Garden State Parkway. It reported that it landed near the home depot.
Though one instructor from Skydive East Coast was treated for a small cut to his arm, no other injuries were reported and no vehicles involved, police said. Investigators have not yet determined what caused the plane to make the emergency landing.
