Planned Parenthood Fires Back Against AHCA’s Findings
After the state of Florida put two Planned Parenthood clinics on notice for allegedly performing second trimester abortions without proper licensing, the organization is firing back in court.
Planned Parenthood is asking a judge for an emergency ruling to allow it to continue performing abortions at 12 and 13 weeks.

The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration earlier this month charged that clinics in St. Petersburg, Fort Myers and Naples performed the later-termed abortions although they are licensed only for first-term procedures.
The Center for Medical Progress claims the videos reveal Planned Parenthood illegally sells body parts of aborted fetuses to companies like StemExpress. “By restricting which provider a woman could choose to receive care from, women could lose access to critical preventive care, such as cancer screenings”.
Selzer, who runs a public relations firm out of West Palm Beach, Fla., has since clarified that she was speaking on behalf of Planned Parenthood’s advocacy and lobbying arm.
Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina blasted Planned Parenthood saying “from its very inception, [Planned Parenthood] targeted poor women, African American and Hispanic women”.
She also said that a fourth Planned Parenthood clinic, in Pembroke Pines, cited by AHCA for improperly labeling fetal remains that were temporarily stored in a freezer, was in compliance with state law.
The federal government provides grants to Planned Parenthood that are distributed through the Utah Department of Health. The series of undercover videos do not feature any Planned Parenthood officials from Iowa.
StemExpress recently described itself as “the largest provider of maternal blood and fetal tissue globally”, adding that it offers “special discounts to the academic community”.
“To attach these to abortion just boggles the mind. (Department of Health Services Director) Cara Christ is passing this rule, it’s got our full support and enthusiasm and we don’t want this to be happening inside these facilities”.
“People won’t get tested, and when you’re not receiving proper sex education, not only are you not getting tested for HIV so you don’t know your status, you’re still sexually active”, she said.
