Planned Parenthood head Cecile Richards mourns with, rallies supporters

Most of the Republican presidential candidates have piled on Planned Parenthood with misleading information to appeal to right-wing primary voters, but no one has behaved more shamefully than Carly Fiorina.
Robert L. Dear Jr., who is accused of killing three people, including a MA native, Friday at a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood center, fits the traditional angry loner profile.
Betty DeFazio is the Director of Community Affairs, and she says first and foremost they are showing support for the victims of the shooting in Colorado Springs, and standing in solidarity with their community, but she says they’re also sending a message: our doors are open. These are the same people who act shocked when a man goes in to a clinic with a gun and kills people because of the lies and the hate he has heard, believed and spewed about Planned Parenthood.
“This is health care”, Cowart said.
Other anti-abortion restrictions in the Texas law have already forced about half of the 41 clinics that provided abortion there to close.
Unfortunately, Planned Parenthood is being attacked from all sides: religious standpoints, extremists and now the government. “We are open, and we are going to be here for our patients”. On a few instances, protesters have entered the Nashville clinic’s ground.
“We’ve seen an alarming increase in hateful rhetoric and smear campaigns against abortion providers and patients over the last few months”, she said in a statement released last week. Americans reject the hatred and vitriol that fueled this tragedy.
The connotation that Planned Parenthood has become an abortion monster is not the case, because just three percent of all Planned Parenthood health services are abortion services.
“In remembrance of Ke’Arre Stewart, a 29 year old Iraq War veteran and father of two…we have to say that enough is enough”, said Tory Mills with Planned Parenthood.
She said: “We continued on with our business in regularly scheduled clinic hours like we have continued on through every incident, living out our commitment to care, no matter what”.
