Planned Parenthood President Thanks Trump For His ‘Kind Words’
Trump stood firm in his defense of Planned Parenthood’s very few services other than abortion during Thursday night’s CNN Republican debate.
In response, Planned Parenthood’s CEO Cecile Richards said Wednesday on MSNBC, “This is one thing I agree with Donald Trump on, is [sic] that Planned Parenthood does unbelievable work for two and a half million patients every single year”, reports Politico.
Created Equal, based in Columbus, Ohio, last week launched “Project Weak Link”, so named because its goal is to focus on what the group has deemed to be the weak link in Planned Parenthood’s abortion care operations: the health-care organization’s process for handling tissue disposal.
“That’s what’s at stake here”.
“Having abortions in our community and making it easily accessible, it undermines our community and it undermines the morals of our community”, Angela Minter, president of Sisters for Life said. Planned Parenthood has argued the videos were heavily edited and that its clinics to do not sell fetal tissue. “Cervical cancer, lots of women’s issue, women’s health issues are taken care of”. This was Meet the Press just yesterday talking about Planned Parenthood.
Dr. Jaclyn Grentzer, who says she is one of five doctors in the state who perform abortions, told lawmakers that all the tissue from an abortion is sealed in a container and sent to pathology services along with a report. I’m not going to fund it. Now they say it’s 3 percent and it’s 4 percent, some people say it’s 60 percent.
The billionaire businessman added that he would “defund it because of the abortion factor”.
Donald Trump may strike general election voters as “moderate” and hence be “electable”, more so than anyone else remaining in the GOP primary field, because of his stand in favor of taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood. Trump said he would appoint “very good judges” who would ultimately “change it” but he opposed Roe without specifically saying it should be overturned. Cruz made the claim that Trump was a long-time supporter of abortion.
That’s a confusing and somewhat contradictory way of putting it: Planned Parenthood is great, except for the abortion stuff they do, which I won’t fund.
