Planned Parenthood Rejects Donald Trump’s Offer To Stop Providing Abortion Services

The story told in Planned Parenthood’s new ad has a very different ending for women and their babies more than 300,000 times a year. The Washington Post also noted that those clinics are not required to provide family planning services, either, which is one of the most important services that Planned Parenthood provides. In many parts of the country, Planned Parenthood clinics are the only place that women can get affordable mammograms, pap smears, check ups and birth control counseling.

A PPLM spokeswoman said the five MA clinics provide about $2 million in services to Medicaid patients that would be in jeopardy should Congress block Medicaid reimbursements for Planned Parenthood through the GOP health reform bill now being debated. But Wise said he hopes his bill would cut off that funding source if Planned Parenthood seeks the dollars again. “Nonnegotiable”, said one Planned Parenthood official. “They are the central agency of the culture of death in this society”.

Anyone who wants women to be healthy and have children only when they’re ready should be horrified at the idea of a world without Planned Parenthood.

I recently received a letter from Rep. Sean Duffy concerning Planned Parenthood. California overcharged the federal government for the services, some which HHS found weren’t even related to family planning. “Not today, tomorrow, not ever”. That analysis examined the pregnancy rates of women who went to any of 40 Planned Parenthood clinics nationwide, finding that, in the 20 clinics where staff were trained on how to administer IUDs or implants (compared with the 20 where staff were not), women were more likely to use these methods.

“I don’t think they’d take it because there would be restrictions on how they work”, Serafini said.

Planned Parenthood has declined an offer from President Trump to keep – and possibly increase – its federal funding in exchange for ceasing to commit abortions.

Planned Parenthood and their advocates routinely claim that abortion constitutes only 3 percent of the services they provide and their focus is on women’s health issues such as cancer screening and STD testing. Furthermore, by law, none of Planned Parenthood’s government funds can go toward abortions, so the number of federal dollars being spent on abortion services at Planned Parenthood is precisely zero.

Congress is working now on a measure to defund Planned Parenthood. The secretly recorded videos allegedly showed executives discussing their sale of fetal parts, as well as their apparent willingness to manipulate the abortion procedure to preserve organs for sale and use.

The defunding of such a valuable healthcare organization over a woman’s right to choose is outrageous and must be stopped.

During his campaign, Trump made it a point to align himself with the views of these conservative Americans and made numerous promises to them to be elected. Some may argue that low income women can go to a local health clinic instead of Planned Parenthood, but community clinics simply aren’t equipped to handle the need for these vital services like Planned Parenthood is, and the workload is going to quickly add up.
