Planned Parenthood site latest target of hackers
Last week, a group of 35 Republican lawmakers in Minnesota called on Gov. Mark Dayton to launch an investigation into the practices at Planned Parenthood clinics in Minnesota – a request he rejected.
Clinton reiterated to the Granite State newspaper that Planned Parenthood has provided other services besides abortions and said the videos raise questions about “many institutions in our country”, not just Planned Parenthood.
Protests were held outside of both of the Minnesota Planned Parenthood clinics that provide abortions, in Rochester and St. Paul, with the Post Bulletin reporting that 200 protesters on both sides of the abortion debate rallied in Rochester.
I’m not a legal expert, so I don’t know whether Planned Parenthood has acted legally or illegally in harvesting and selling baby body parts. “If there’s going to be any kind of congressional inquiry, it should look at everything and not just one [organization]”, she told the Union Leader.
Planned Parenthood denied this, saying it has a tissue donation program for the benefits of research but the only reimbursement it gets is to cover packing and shipping costs. “As First Lady, I led an effort to try to lower the number of teenage pregnancies and we succeeded, and as President I will continue to work toward that so that women are fully empowered, they can afford to make responsible decisions, and I hope we will be successful at that”.
And while she defended the group again this week, she also said the videos raise questions about the process of donating aborted fetal tissue. “I call upon mainstream reporters to ask Hillary Clinton if she supports Planned Parenthood’s sale of body parts in direct violation of federal criminal law”. “I think it would be a giant mistake if Planned Parenthood were not in Hawaii”.
