Playboy Mansion for sale but Hugh Hefner wants to stay put
Hefner’s estate sits on six acres in the popular Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, so he’s slapped a $200 million price sticker on the mansion. Buyers can also tour the property but Hefner’s bedroom is off limits. Beyond the notorious history of the house, the value of the property is mostly in the land. The house is 21,987-square-feet and designed in the Gothic-Tudor style. Yet, TMZ “real estate sources”, state the true worth of the estate to be $80-90 million due to its run-down condition.
Playboy Enterprises, which owns the magazine and all related licensing, now rents the property to Hefner, and uses it for corporate events. However, a former Playboy Playmate has said the mansion is “stuck in the 1980s”, according to the OCRegister. Besides being the seemingly permanent resident to the most lovely women on the planet, Playboy mansion is famous for its pool and the surrounding area that has witnessed some of the most lavish and extravagant parties frequently attended by celebrities. However, real estate sources who know the area well are of the opinion that the quoted amount is too high.
The elderly founder of Playboy Magazine must be allowed to live at the mansion for the rest of his life, according to the sale terms.
