PlayStation 20th Anniversary USA sale better than UK
More topically, a 20 Anniversary SHAREfactory theme will be available free of charge through today on the North American PlayStation Store. This powerhouse of a game console has turned 20 this year, and in honor of that there are tons of sales on the PlayStation Network for over 100 games, as well as tons of promotions going on to celebrate the birthday of PlayStation. The limited edition bundle also contains the PlayStation 4 stand, headset and PlayStation Camera all in the limited edition Sony PlayStation grey.
Coincidentally, the same date of the first PlayStation’s release, September 9, marks the day in which Sega launched their final console in 1999 after four years of competition with Sony.
Looking at the Playstation 4 and Xbox One and where consoles have come in twenty years, the original Playstation does look aged in this unboxing video, but we have to also remember just how important it was as a gaming console. The 20th Anniversary Sale is now live, and it covers all of Sony’s platforms, even including PS Classics. The sale could earn you up to seventy percent (or eighty percent if you’re a PS Pro member) off on dozens of games for PS4, PS3, PS Vita, and PSP. Check out the full lineup on their store. Check out the original 20th anniversary themed DualShock 4 wireless controller here.
Video game stories from other sites on the web. Moving away from Nintendo, Sony released its first console in 1993. The PS3 gets a bit skipped somewhere in the middle, likely due to it not having the most successful launch, though it ended up working out quite well once Sony lowered the price and got some wonderful games to market.
Now I personally don’t remember much about the actual launch of the unit itself in North America as I was still a kid.
