PlayStation 4 Pro Performance Test By Digital Foundry
Sony’s live stream event did not really clear up much about the differences between the PS4 Pro and the regular model. This Friday Sony Interactive Entertainment executive Masayasu Ito has confirmed that this will go on a game-by-game basis and that some of them won’t be free.
One of the notable announcements that you may have missed at PlayStation Meeting given all of the PS4 Pro, 4K and HDR talk, is the availability of a new Netflix 4K app that will launch alongside the new PS4 Pro console.
Update: Sony has clarified via email that it “will not charge consumers for patches”. Sony also pointed out that all games will support 4K, but not all will support 4K and HDR at the same time.
For Days Gone, it’s really exciting working on the PlayStation 4 Pro. Which means, the PS4 Pro can offer more attractive, detailed graphics compared to the existing PS4.
Revealed earlier this week, the PlayStation 4 Pro is an upgraded version of Sony’s PlayStation 4 gaming console.
Are you willing to pay for 4K resolutions or high dynamic range lighting? Sony opted to focus most of its presentation and game demos on 4K and HDR, which makes sense for showcasing the maximum fidelity of the platform, but doesn’t tell current owners anything about what they can expect.
During this week’s interview with Game Watch, Ito stated that all Sony-published games going forward will offer improved visuals on PlayStation 4 Pro hardware. If you still own a PlayStation 3 and/or a PlayStation Vita, you’ll also get two free games a month for those.
The PS4 Pro will ship on November 10, while slimmer PlayStation 4 is slated to be released next week.
