On Tuesday, July 14, Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) – the company’s online gaming infrastructure – witnessed yet another outage, much to the infuriation of many gamers.
Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) has once again caused a headache.
“You might be experiencing issues associated to rising games, applications, and/or amicable facilities such as trophies, messaging, or friends list”.
Update during 2:15 p.m. Pacific time: Sony claims PSN is back adult and using – nonetheless many people still news that they are carrying tie troubles. But that Sony confirmation also came bundled with an apology, a banking for a PlayStation store, and a giveaway prolongation of PlayStation Plus for subscribers. “We appreciate your patience while we address this”, Sony said.
Sony issued an official letter stating that the downtime was for the server maintenance, however, there were no warning messages or emails granted to the users before the downtime.
These issues are a big reason why Playstation users have launched the Better PSN initiative, which fields suggestions from fellow gamers on improvements that can be done to the gaming network. The downtime lasted for 23 days, leading to information from 77 million accounts on the network to be compromised.
This month alone PSN went down twice, once on Friday, July 3 and again on Saturday, July 4. LizardSquad, the hacker group took responsibility for a denial of service attack in 2014 that caused PSN downtimes over the holidays.
Sony confirmed the outage on PSN’s status page.
Sony’s statement on this is trying to explain that the PSN is undergoing some maintenance.
