Plymouth Argyle sign Crystal Palace teenaged prospect
Ghana and Crystal Palace midfielder Hiram Boateng has signed for Plymouth Argyle on loan until January 2nd 2016.
Boateng has been at Premier League Palace since the age of eight, and made his debut for them as a 17-year-old apprentice in an FA Cup tie against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns past year.
Boateng, 19, has signed a deal which should keep him at Home Park until at least January 2.
He has been a regular for the development side over recent seasons, and made 24 appearances for the under-21s last campaign, scoring once.
Boateng has been attracted by the challenge of promotion and has been impressed by new Plymouth manager Derek Adams, who is keen on the youngster’s style of play.
Fans were treated to an incredible solo goal against Colchester U21s last season where he dribbled his way from the halfway line to score.
Boateng becomes League Two Plymouth’s sixth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Gary Sawyer, Jake Jervis, Gregg Wylde, Simpson and Graham Carey.
