PM announces Rs 1.25 lakh crore package for Bihar

Criticising Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the prime minister said that though the Janata Dal (United) leader had failed to use funds allocated to the state, he was asking for more money “for the sake of politics”.
“Even then they call Bihar a BIMARU (sick) state“, he said, referring to a term Modi used in an election speech.
The JD-U leader said he invited Kejriwal to Bihar to speak on the public delivery system.
Nitish was the chief guest at the Delhi government’s “Bihar Samman Samaroh” where people from Bihar, who had made significant contributions in various walks of life, were felicitated. Modi said the fear of the return of jungle raj was rattling Bihar once again. “67 out of 70 seats to Arvind Kejriwal, which was incredible”, Nitish said. “Nitish Kumar has lost four wickets today, will get clean bold in the coming state polls”. “Now Bihar will touch new heights of development“, he said at a government function where several projects were launched. The PM also made it clear that the Rs 1.25 lakh crore package will be in addition to the ongoing projects worth Rs 40, 657 crore, announced previously.
Modi also grabbed the opportunity to show that previous packages were paltry in comparison with his announcement. He said the Agriculture Ministry was now being renamed and reoriented as the Ministry for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare. He talks about decimating BJP in Bihar. Mr Kejriwal went on to predict that “Delhi will be repeated in Bihar”.
Sharing the dais with Kumar, Kejriwal had on Wednesday extended full support to his Bihar counterpart’s bid for another shot at power as the two leaders attacked Modi, accusing him of not fulfilling his election promises and trying to buy out votes’ with the economic package.
