PM Modi greets nation on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi
The Muslims across the State celebrated Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed, with great joy and devotion on Thursday.
The Prophet was born on the 12th day of Rabi’ al-awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar which is based on the moon sighting.
The government had declared the day a public holiday. “Groups from various parts of the city congregated near Sidi Sayed Mosque as the vehicular traffic was diverted to the peripheral roads”.
On the occasion, people set up langars and sabeels of sweet water/milk at different points of procession routes on the occasion whereas tea and qehwa was also served among the devotees. People also indulged in the last-minute shopping as many retail outlets welcomed the festivities with elaborate decorations. Similarly, the government and semi-government buildings and offices were also decorated attractive.
Processions will be taken out and Milad gatherings organised to mark the occasion.
In Madhya Pradesh capital, traditional Milad-Un-Nabi procession began from Mangalwara of the walled city. Divisional administration had made arrangements of security and other necessary facilities.
According to details, devout Muslims from across the country and other parts of the world are lighting candles, cutting cakes and distributing candies among loved ones, DunyaNewsreported.
Eid Miladun Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) is being observed for the second time this year with religious spirit, enthusiasm and solemnity to celebrate birth of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in the provincial metropolis.
A milad mahfil will be arranged at Bangabhaban after Asr prayers.
