PM Modi Turns 65, Kejriwal, Omar Greet Him
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ushered in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 65th birthday with much fanfare across Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.
Agitating contractual teachers on Wednesday sought an appointment with Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi during his visit to Varanasi on September 18, following the Allahabad High Court order quashing the government move to appoint 1.72 lakh Shiksha Mitras as assistant teachers in the state. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, who had to face the party’s wrath for praising Narendra Modi and was dropped from the list of spokespersons, also greeted the Prime Minister but underlined their disagreement in politics.
Tight security arrangements are in place in view of the Prime Minister’s visit and a team of the Special Protection Group (SPG), which is directly responsible for his safety, arrived in the city on Tuesday itself.
