PM, Narendra Modi asks secretaries to take stern action against erring officials
In this direction, the attending secretaries were given an assignment of setting up of a monitoring mechanism to dispose the grievances.
Modi also held a meeting of his council of ministers to review progress on schemes related to various ministries.
A discussion in this regard took place when MIT President Rafael Reif called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday.
PM Modi during the meet asked the secretaries to keep a check on the employees who are ignorant towards their duties and that take action against them which includes removal from their service and also withhold their of pension. Chief Secretary Anthony de Sa informed the Prime Minister that all beneficiaries of old age, widow and disabled pensions have been linked with digital system.
