PM wants to reverse our decisions; they will arrest Maliwal, says CM

Swamy tweeted that, Najeeb Jung is unsuitable for the post of Lieutenant Governer and is another 420 like Arvind Kejriwal.

He is also a trenchant critic of Arvind Kejriwal who has in the past accused Jung of targeting his government at BJP’s behest.

Dubbing the scrutinising exercise, initiated by the LG office, as ‘witch hunting, ‘ Mr Kejriwal alleged that the centre will now victimise officers as they arrested party MLAs on false cases.

On Friday, Lieutenant- Governor Najeeb Jung said that he was in the process of overturning “illegal decisions” taken by the AAP government. “Now LG sitting on that file”, he tweeted citing news clippings.

Jung rubbished the claims while he was addressing media on “Complexities of Governance” at an event organised by former BJP MLA Vijay Jolly in Delhi and added that, “Why the Prime Minister would do so when he looks after the entire country”. Kejriwal asked. “Modiji is hell bent on destroying Delhi through LG”. “AAP govt asked for land for 10 hospitals from DDA”.

Referring to Jung’s statement that he has tried to keep his intervention in the government restricted to the bare minimum, Kejriwal said, “If this is “least interference”, then what is “high interference”?” He said that “for the first time, we had brought in non-IAS officers in these two departments (health and PWD) as secretaries, an honest engineer in the PWD department and a person from a medical background in the health department. Shameful subversion of democracy to protect chair”. “We passed an order stating that power companies will pay compensation to the people if there are unscheduled power cuts of more than two hours”.

Gupta also alleged that AAP “turned a blind eye towards welfare and development of Delhi after winning a majority in the Delhi Assembly elections”. “Modi’s LG refused. Was our demand illegal”.

The AICC spokesperson said, the series of errors committed by the AAP leaders whether by default or design only proves one point that they are yet to understand and get feel of Punjab. Kejriwal said that this was Modi government’s way of taking revenge from the people of Delhi for the not bringing them to power.

Reacting strongly to the LG’s order, Sisodia said that if quality of health and education deteriorates, Modi will be responsible as he is creating hurdles in the functioning of the AAP government.
