Point Pleasant Easter egg hunt scenes
The afternoon event began with an Easter egg hunt. Twenty-seven thousand Easter eggs were hidden and thousands came out for the hunt.
Hippity-hoppity, the Easter bunny is on his way.
“I always get a great response when I’m promoting it because people think it’s the coolest idea to do one inside the library”, Ridder said.
“There are so many eggs and they’re all the way down to that tree down there”, she said.
There were multiple activities for families to enjoy when children weren’t taking place in the Easter egg hunt including games and drawings. “It’s really good when you’ve got the help from the mayor and the Parks Department….” Kids will be divided into age groups with lots of candy and prizes.
According to consumer analyst, Springboard, if the weather returns to freezing conditions over the Easter Weekend footfall in shops could drop by as much as 15 per cent compared to previous year.
“We reached our target of 380 with leftover Easter eggs to sweeten the day for everyone”, said Anabela.
Practical concerns such as this have no influence on my sons’ grandparents who tend to “forget” the one egg rule and lavish the boys with eggs aplenty. I have a soft heart when it comes to kids and we want to see this annual tradition continue. “I did this by myself previous year and it’s hard”. “So, we put out there that we needed 40 baskets”.
Since then, the tradition spread across the United States and eventually included baskets with colorful eggs, chocolates and sweets.
