Pokemon Go’s buddy system could let you bond with your creatures
The Pokemon GO Development Team confirms today that it will be implementing the rumored Buddy Pokemon system, suggesting that the update is coming soon. Previously we reported that Pokemon GO might implement trading and forts in a later update.
Called “Buddy Pokemon”, it’s the ability for a player to choose one of their favorite Pokemon for a more in-depth relationship.
Your buddy will also appear on the profile screen, standing alongside your trainer, even awarding you with additional candy when you are walking together. What’s great is, you can switch buddies anytime you like – so this is NOT a one time deal! Niantic confirmed that players will earn sweets for their Buddy Pokemon by walking certain distances, and teased other possible rewards too. It’s created to allow players to bring a Pokemon out and travel alongside them.
In other related news, analysis outlet SensorTower reports that the game has already raked up an impressive amount of $440 million as it approaches its second month of availability.
Pokemon Go Hub ran through the data with a fine-tooth comb this week and managed to put the information into terms that we could all understand. The change comes in the form of the Buddy System.
There are various looks of Buddy Pokemon: Medium size, big size, flying next to you, resting on your shoulder. The tracking feature is something gamers want to see improved with Niantic failing to get the code rights with their recent updates. “A Trainer can earn Candy for their buddy by walking a certain distance”.
