Pokemon GO to start testing new tracking system
For diehard Pokemon Go fans who are craving some updates to the game, Ditto’s arrival is certainly welcome.
It is insidiously hard. So, for example, you may catch a Pikachu, but in reality it is a Ditto, and you won’t know this until you’ve already caught it.
With the new capture video below, the official Pokemon Go YouTuber channel released a statement dishing more details on Ditto. Some say that when they catch some of the lower-ranked and more prevalent monsters like Zubat, Pidgey, Rattata, they suddenly turn into Ditto.
When Ditto transforms into another Pokemon, it will take the stats and moves of its target, but will retain it’s own level and IVs, which is why the CP will usually be different. The Pokemon Go universe went into a frenzy and now, everyone is looking for Ditto. Plus, the Nearby feature will only show up if a PokeStop is near a player’s location. The secret here is the fact that Ditto disguises itself as other Pokemon, so you won’t know you are about to catch Ditto until you actually do. Fortunately following the latest update from Niantic, that’s no longer the case, as over night his value increased by some 400 CP.
A month or so back, Niantic re-released its “Nearby” tracking feature for testing in San Francisco. You don’t need to do anything; just wait for it to transform. In addition, we have also made changes to the way Sightings now works.
Finally, trainers can experience an unofficial Thanksgiving event starting today and ending November 30. Niantic has done similar things in its previous game, “Ingress”, on which the “Pokemon Go” map data is based, according to VentureBeat.
