Pokemon Sun and Moon will arrive later this year, confirms Nintendo
The Big “N” revealed some of the new content that’s inbound for their newly announced Pokemon Sun and Moon for Nintendo’s 3DS this fall.
This morning’s Pokemon Nintendo Direct was short, but terrifically sweet for long-time fans of the series.
It’s been a long time coming, but Nintendo fans can finally return to the world of “Pokemon” – the next two games in the series, “Sun” and “Moon” have just been announced!
The game is expected for release sometime THIS holiday, 2016 for the Nintendo 3DS. It ended with an announcement for Pokemon Sun and Moon – two games whose existence was leaked a day ago. No one can argue the Pokemon franchise isn’t still going strong. The versions of Red, Blue and Yellow that become available tomorrow will be modified to support Pokemon Bank.
Back when the original Game Boy was designed, Nintendo wasn’t really thinking about how to make the device communicate with future generations of the product. Also, the pocket monsters from the originals can now be traded to the new games. That being said, Pokemon titles typically hint at the games’ major themes, and the same holds true here. Developed by Game Freak, the games were eventually ported to North America as Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue in September 1998. Pokemon became a cultural phenomenon worldwide with its video games, television shows, trading cards and movies. Players can transfer Pokemon from Pokemon X and Y and Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to Pokemon Sun and Moon. It’s due to launch this year, but there hasn’t been a date specified yet.
