Police arrest man for allegedly misleading Worcester homicide investigation
McLaughlin says a man who was arrested in the investigation into the discovery of a burned body found after a vehicle fire Wednesday night is a suspect in the killing.
On Thursday, detectives arrested 40-year-old, Thomas Hogan, of Montague Street in Worcester and charged him with witness intimidation.
Hogan, 40, was arraigned in Worcester District Court on a single charge of misleading police. The judge set bail at $3,000 cash, lower than the $50,000 cash sought by prosecutors.
In a statement posted to Facebook, the department says the body was discovered after officials responded to a report of a auto fire in the area of Wildwood Avenue at around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Spokespersons for the police and Worcester district attorney’s office did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Firefighters found the body after the fire was extinguished.
Officers saw the vehicle engulfed in flames.
