Police call death of 83-year-old North Salem woman suspicious
Eighty-three-year-old Lois Colley was found dead in her Titicus Road home in North Salem Monday, the victim of an apparent homicide, according to state police.
The NY State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Somers said the new death investigation was active and ongoing and urged anyone with information to step forward.
A caretaker at the 300-acre manor found Lois Colley’s body in the laundry room of the couple’s home in North Salem, authorities said.
Police have yet to reveal how Colley died and if they have any suspects in her death. Police said they don’t know the whereabouts of Eugene Colley.
‘We’re asking public to remain vigilant and alert, ‘ State Police Lt. Paul DeQuarto said of the investigation. The home is not visible from the main road.
Colley was a socialite and the mother of playboy Bruce Colley, 62, who hooked up with Kennedy in 2003, leading to the breakup of her marriage to the future governor. Meanwhile her husband donned a 50-year-old scarlet riding coat as master of the hunt.
“She goes to every hunting event”, Thompson said.
Colley is the wife of millionaire Eugene Colley, who made his fortune as the owner of 100 Mcdonald’s franchises. The couples later divorced. “They’re a very close family”, North Salem town historian Susan Thompson told The Journal News.
