Police cite Thomas Bryant, Indiana basketball teammate for illegally
Two Indiana University basketball players were cited with underage possession of alcohol Friday.
This is not the news you want to hear if you are Indiana head basketball coach Tom Crean.
Bryant, who transferred from Bishop Kearney High School in Rochester to finish his playing career at Huntington Prep, was one of the most sought-after Class of 2015 big men in the nation.
Bryant and sophomore guard Emmitt Holt were each ticketed at 12:50 a.m. on August 21. This would be Thomas Bryant’s first since arriving on campus as a much-heralded freshman.
Holt appeared in 29 games past year, averaging 3.6 points and three rebounds in 11.4 minutes a night.
Davis was kicked off the team in May after being cited for marijuana possession. In May, Holt hit teammate Devin Davis with a auto. Before that, Mosquera-Perea was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Both were cited for minor consumption of an alcoholic beverage and possession of false identification.
The decision to dismiss Davis and Mosquera-Perea – who was not cited by police in the incident but was identified as present by the program itself – was announced in a brief statement.
