Police close investigation into Saints defensive end Cam Jordan club incident
METAIRIE, La. – There was no change Thursday to the New Orleans Saints’ injury report, with quarterback Drew Brees still listed as limited, while defensive end Cameron Jordan and guard Jahri Evans did not practice.
This, despite dual investigations within the Police Department for an incident at Republic night club involving Jordan. The investigation stems from an alleged incident September 6 at a Warehouse District bar.
When her boyfriend confronted Jordan about it, the alleged victims told police Jordan picked the man up by his shirt, saying “I can have any bitch I want”. “As attorneys for Cam Jordan our investigation reveals that there was no criminal misconduct committed by Mr. Jordan”, the attorneys said in the statement.
However, the NOPD is passing reality into the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office for possible further understanding.
The Orleans Parish sheriff initiated an investigation into the deputies’ handling of the incident, but a spokesman didn’t return a call seeking information on the status of that internal investigation.
The man and woman accused Jordan of slapping the woman on her backside and then getting into a scuffle with her boyfriend. WWL-TV was the first to report that Jordan would not be charged.
