Police, firefighters rescue bear with head stuck in bottle
Police and firefighters worked together to rescue a bear that got its head stuck in a bottle early Tuesday morning.
The “quick-witted officers” then came up with the idea to place the cub into the backseat of a patrol vehicle, police said in a report.
Firefighters were able to safely remove the bottle from the cub’s head, police said, using rescue tools.
They took her to a nearby fire station, where a Colorado Parks and Wildlife officer sedated the bear.
It published a photo of the small cub riding in the cruiser, sitting under the rear window, her head stuck in the tub. The officers gave the cub a ride in the back of a cruiser before a wildlife ranger tranquillized it so it could be set free.
A mama bear was hit by a auto outside of Sedalia over the weekend, leaving her baby cubs devastated.
