Police had previous run-ins with mom who killed daughters
Sheriff Troy Nehls said a family argument led to the shooting Friday evening in front of a home just outside the Houston suburb of Fulshear.
Deputies had received 14 calls to investigate at the Katy home since 2012.
Taylor Sheats, 22, was supposed to be married on Monday. Now, her friend is left wondering if she could have made a difference.
In January, she shared a post with the following message: “I have 10 guns”. “The greatest in laws any one could ever have, and the sweetest, most wholesome and caring girls in my life”.
“I look up to yall so much”. Y’all were a light in the midst of this insane world.
On Facebook, Fort Ben County Sheriff’s Office wrote the girls’ mother refused to lower her weapon when police arrived and was shot and killed by a Fulshear officer.
According to a witness, Christy Sheats went back inside the home to reload the gun. Some were alarm issues, but due to legal constraints issued by the county attorney, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office can not describe the other calls for service, or release the 911 calls at this time. She was a gun supporter with a history of mental illness.
Christy Sheats often posted online about her love for her daughters, her faith, and her support for gun rights.
A police officer responding to the scene shot and killed Sheats “before she was able to shoot [Madison] again”, Espinosa said, according to People.
The man was home at the time of the shooting, but did not suffer any injuries. The husband, Jason Sheats, and the daughters all managed to run out of the house, but the youngest girl, Madison, collapsed and died outside. Jason Sheats ran to the end of a cul-de-sac and was uninjured.
In the course of the meeting, she pulled a gun and shot Madison and Taylor.
Police said gunfire rang out in the Westheimer Lakes North neighborhood around 5 p.m. on Friday..
Our hearts are absolutely breaking! Taylor Sheats, 22, was shot and killed by her own mother in Texas on June 24 – just days before her wedding, which was supposed to take place today, on June 27.
Taylor was airlifted to a local hospital, where she died. Another user commented below one of his pictures with her on Saturday afternoon.
“This is not the Christy that I know”. “Please let me know if I can do anything”.
