Police release surveillance photos in murder of Amanda Blackburn

Davey Blackburn reportedly returned home from the gym in the early hours of the morning to find his wife in their home, sustaining a gunshot wound to the head.

“Some people have funerals, and then a few people have celebrations”, pastor Perry Noble said.

The Indy Star said four churches came together to coordinate the service, including NewSpring Church, the church the Blackburns attended in SC, and Resonate Church, the Indianapolis church of which Blackburn is pastor.

Amanda Blackburn’s father is lead pastor of First Baptist Church in Elkhart, Indiana, and Davey Blackburn’s father, Dave Blackburn, is lead pastor at Next Church in Brevard, North Carolina, Swift said.

In a video, her sister offered insight into Amanda’s life.

“If I could be like Amanda I’d want to just live my life in such a way that leaves a legacy that the way her life has obviously left”, a member of Resonate Church said. A video later played on the screen, showing Amanda’s family members and church members taking time to remember the young mother, who was 12 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. Although the wife was taken to the hospital in critical condition, she died of her injuries later on.

“I knew they were going to come up here and make a difference”, Noble said.

“Over time, she was able to take something in her hands and turn it into something handsome and desirable and usable”, Noble said, using it as a metaphor for how God takes a bad situation and turns it into something good.

“One day, we’ll sit down at a table”, Noble said near the close of the service, starting to tear up, “and we will celebrate what is breaking our hearts right now”.

Police say Amanda was killed in a home invasion and they’re searching for her killer.

“What happened yesterday is pure evil”.
